Your college psych class just came in handy. That's because successful loyalty programs are built upon the principles of positive reinforcement. See a behavior you like? Reward it. It will repeat. Why? Because just like animals, humans are hardwired to recognize desirable outcomes and repeat the steps taken to get it – whether for food, money, points, discounts or swag.
