Lara Hechtkopf Legal Counsel
Lara Hechtkopf brings diverse legal and business experience to Kobie as Kobie’s legal counsel since 2010. Prior to working for Kobie, she practiced commercial and civil litigation for Miami firm, Pathman Lewis, and was an Assistant State Attorney on behalf of the State of Florida in Miami-Dade County.
Lara is a double graduate of Emory University, earning degrees from the Goizueta Business School and the School of Law.
Lara is passionate about conservation and environmental sustainability, and regularly participates in and contributes to related organizations, such as Dream in Green, Water for People and Water.org. She is one of the few South Florida attorneys to have become a LEED AP, an accredited professional under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program, overseen by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC), of which she is a member. Lara is also a member of the Florida Bar, the Dade County Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.
Lara is an outdoor enthusiast and loves participating in almost anything athletic, from running, hiking and playing volleyball to sailing, kayaking, and skiing. She enjoys traveling to exotic, hard-to-reach places, and learning about the local cultures and history.
